What is Permanent Eyeliner?

Permanent eyeliner is a semi-permanent PMU procedure that gives you the benefits of eyeliner without the daily routine. Using a pinpoint precision technique, Lana places cosmetic-grade pigment into the epidermis along the lash line to create the illusion of thick, dark, dense lashes. Because the pigment sits shallower than a traditional tattoo, the effect softens and fades over 1–2 years.

For Southwick clients, the look can be as subtle or as dramatic as you want — smudged for softness, sharper for definition, top-only or top & bottom. Lana works with your eye shape, complexion, and lifestyle to build a look that wakes up the face without ever looking overdone.

The best part is freedom: no more smudging, running, or reapplying. Your eyeliner stays put while you swim, sleep, work out, or simply get on with the day.

The Treatment

When you arrive from Southwick, Lana confirms the perfect shape and color for you in person — considering your eye shape, complexion, and preferences. Plan to come without makeup or contacts.

The eyelid area is sterilized and a numbing gel is applied (about 15–20 minutes to take full effect). Lana then applies the eyeliner pigment with pinpoint precision, using a second numbing gel as needed for comfort throughout.

A complimentary perfecting session is scheduled 4–6 weeks later, once the color has settled and the lids are fully healed. At that visit Lana refines shape and color to lock in your final result.

Aftercare

Lids may feel tender for the first few days — that's normal. Don't scratch or pick, and wear sunglasses outdoors to protect the pigment from UV fade as it heals.

Pigment looks much darker for the first 7–30 days and may appear to flake off slightly — that's superficial color shedding, not your final result. The color settles fully around day 30.

Your 4–6 week perfecting appointment is the time to adjust shape, width, or color before everything is locked in.

Will permanent eyeliner work for me?

Permanent eyeliner is a great option for most clients, but a few conditions need extra consideration. If any of the below apply to you, please mention them during your Southwick consultation.

Pregnancy & Breastfeeding

Permanent eyeliner is not recommended for individuals who are pregnant or breastfeeding. We ask that you wait until after this period before scheduling treatment.

Slow Healing or Infection-Prone Skin

Clients who are prone to slow healing or skin infections are not good candidates for permanent eyeliner. Proper healing is essential for the pigment to settle correctly.

Diabetes (Type 1 or Type 2)

Clients with diabetes should discuss the treatment with Lana prior to application. We will review your history together to determine whether permanent eyeliner is appropriate for you.

Thyroid Disease

Some medications used to treat thyroid disease can cause improper retention of the pigment. Please discuss your condition and current medications with Lana before booking.
